Ceremonial Structure, Folk Magic Heart Derived from Crowley's Liber 777 & Traditional Hoodoo/Folk Witchcraft
Overview
This working blends two magical traditions:
- Qabalistic/Ceremonial — Using the correspondences of Chesed (the 4th Sephira) and Jupiter to open channels of abundance through precise alignment
- Folk Magic/Hoodoo — Using sympathetic magic, natural lodestones, and physical curios to draw and anchor wealth in the material world
The ceremonial structure opens the channel. The folk magic gives the energy somewhere to land.
The Qabalistic Foundation
Chesed (חסד) — Hebrew for "Mercy" — is the Fourth Sephira on the Tree of Life. It corresponds to:
- Planet: Jupiter (Tzedeq — "righteousness")
- Number: 4 (solidification, manifestation below the Abyss)
- God Name: EL (אל)
- Archangel: Tzadkiel (Righteousness of God)
- Angels: Chashmalim (Brilliant Ones)
- Color: Blue (Queen Scale), Deep Violet (King Scale)
- Perfume: Cedar
- Metal: Tin
- Stones: Amethyst, Sapphire, Lapis Lazuli
- Magical Power: The Vision of Love
- Palace (Briah): Hekel Ahbah (Palace of Love)
Chesed represents abundance not as mere accumulation but as the natural overflow of cosmic benevolence — mercy made manifest.

Timing

- Moon: Waxing phase
- Hour: Jupiter's planetary hour (1st or 8th after sunrise) — optional but amplifying
- Bonus: Moon in Virgo
Thursday evening with intention beats perfect timing with doubt.
The Working
1. Set the Space
Arrange 4 blue candles in a square. Place the green candle in the center. Set out lodestone, pyrite, cinnamon, bay leaves, and coin. Light incense.
Fourfold Breath: Inhale 4, hold 4, exhale 4, hold 4. Repeat 4 times.
2. Open the Gate
Face East. Vibrate the God Name:
"EL." (Ehhhhh-Llllll)
Speak:
"By the mercy of Chesed, by the hand of Jupiter, I open the way for abundance to flow."
Light the 4 blue candles clockwise, starting East.
3. Name Your Ally
Hold the lodestone. Speak directly to it:
"I name you [choose a name]. Your work is to draw wealth to me. I feed you so you work for me."
Sprinkle magnetic sand over it. Set it at center.
4. Write Your Petition
Write specifically what you need — not "money" but the actual number or situation. Be plain and direct.
Fold the paper toward you three times.
5. Charge the Bay Leaves
Write one word on each bay leaf:
- WEALTH
- FLOW
- NOW
(Or split your specific amount across three leaves)
6. Build the Talisman
Light the green candle. Layer your items in the pouch/jar:
- Coin at bottom
- Lodestone on top
- Pyrite
- Sprinkle cinnamon over everything
- Folded petition
- 3 bay leaves
As you build, speak:
"Lodestone draws, pyrite gleams, Cinnamon sweetens, bay leaf dreams. Jupiter expands what I have sown— Money flows, wealth is grown."
7. Seal and Charge
Hold the pouch/jar between your hands. Visualize:
- Blue light (Jupiter) flowing down through crown, through arms, into talisman
- Green light (Earth/money) rising up from ground, through feet
- Both meeting in your hands
Vibrate once more:
"EL."
Seal — tie pouch closed or drip green wax over jar lid.
8. Close
"The work is done. The way is open. So it is."
Snuff (don't blow) candles in reverse order. Let incense burn out naturally.
Maintenance
- Carry the talisman in wallet/purse or keep where you handle money
- Feed the lodestone weekly: Open pouch, sprinkle magnetic sand, speak intention, close
- On Thursdays: Hold talisman briefly, repeat: "EL. Jupiter expands what I have sown."
Simplified Version
Absolute minimum working:
- Thursday, waxing moon
- Blue candle + green candle
- Lodestone + cinnamon + a coin
- Vibrate "EL" three times
- State what you need plainly
- Carry the lodestone with the coin
- Feed weekly with magnetic sand
The Old Witch's Trick
Daily practice to make money return:
Draw a tiny pentagram on all your paper money. Dab patchouli oil on your coins. Go through your wallet each evening, marking any new bills.
Money that leaves you marked this way returns threefold.
Why This Works
The ceremonial structure (fourfold pattern, God Name, color correspondences) opens the channel and aligns you with the Jupiter current.
The folk magic elements (lodestone, feeding, sympathetic items) give the energy somewhere to land and something to do.
You're calling down the lightning and giving it a lightning rod.
