“The next thing — the bright, open, better thing — is always just ahead.”
The Type
Sevens are lit from within by possibility. Their minds move quickly and hungrily, generating plans, adventures, connections, and ideas faster than any single life could hold, and they meet the world with an infectious appetite for experience. To be around a Seven is to feel the future open up, to be reminded that life is meant to be savored and that limitation is mostly a failure of imagination. They keep the horizon full so that the present never has the chance to feel like a trap.
That is the deeper motion beneath the sparkle: a flight from pain. The Seven keeps moving because stillness lets old sorrow catch up, and so they reframe, anticipate, and stay in perpetual motion toward the next good thing. Gluttony, their characteristic trap, is a hunger not of the body but of the psyche — an endless reaching for more experience to fill a fear of missing out on life itself.

Healthy & Unhealthy
At their best, Sevens are joyful, deeply grateful, and genuinely present — able to stay with one experience long enough to taste it fully, and to find in a single moment the abundance they once chased across many. Their joy becomes rooted rather than restless. Under stress the motion turns manic. The unhealthy Seven grows scattered, impulsive, and escapist, fleeing every discomfort and leaving a trail of half-finished enthusiasms and unmet pain. Growth asks the Seven to stop and stay, to turn toward the sorrow held in The Shadow rather than outrun it, and to discover through Individuation that the freedom they seek lives inside depth, not away from it.
