“The one who is sent carries the whole of heaven in a single word.”
The Angel
Hahahel is read as “God in three persons” or “the Triune God,” a name whose doubled root of divine breath and being is sealed with the suffix -el, “God.” It is the angel of spiritual vocation, of those set apart to carry a message, and its virtue is the ardour that sustains a soul dedicated wholly to the sacred.
Governing the fifth pentad of Libra, from twenty to twenty-five degrees, Hahahel presides over religious mission, ministry, and the defence of the faith against its enemies. Its classical office is to protect and inspire missionaries, prophets, and all who devote their lives to the propagation of truth, shielding them from calumny and from those who would silence them. The virtue it bestows is consecrated zeal joined to greatness of soul — the willingness to give oneself entirely to a calling, the courage to speak sacred things in hostile places, and the constancy that no persecution can wear down. Under its influence the discouraged servant of a spiritual cause is rekindled, and the one who has felt too small for a great work is enlarged to meet it. It is invoked by those undertaking a vocation of teaching or ministry, by the persecuted faithful, and by any who feel called to a purpose larger than themselves. In the comparative scheme Hahahel answers the Goetic duke Focalor, a spirit of wind and sea with power to drown and to slay; where Focalor commands the destroying waters, Hahahel commands the sustaining spirit, and the mission it guards rides safely over the very floods the other raises.
